1. System Engineer
ABS has an immediate need for an engineering professional with experience in machinery systems.  This position works within our Korea Energy Technology Center in Korea and leads ABS R&D efforts in this discipline.  This position is located in Busan Korea.

Position Description
This position leads propulsion and machinery systems research and development efforts in support of ship and offshore related classification and rule development. The lead in this group will be expected to maintain industry relationships through participation in technical seminars, technical meetings, and professional organizations.  

Position Requirements
Master’s or higher degree in Marine Engineering, Marine Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related discipline from an accredited university or college is required.  Undergraduate degree in other educational disciplines will be considered based on experience. A knowledge of emission control and statutory requirements is strongly desired.

The individual must communicate effectively in English, in both oral and written formats.  This position works extensively with internal and external clients, governmental organizations, and academic entities in support of ABS Rules and Guide development.  Individuals may be required to travel domestically and internationally to participate and/or present technical papers, training, or assistance to same.  Must possess the ability to lead a team, work well in a collaborative manner, meet schedule deadlines, and coordinate multiple efforts projects in an environment where priorities and assignments may change regularly.  


2. Hydrodynamic Engineer
ABS has an immediate need for a naval architect with experience in ship building and R&D.  This position works within our Korea Energy Technology Center in Korea and leads ABS R&D efforts within the discipline.  This position is located in Busan Korea.
